Developed a Java based system to control a wide range of broadcast TV station equipment (such as professional video cameras, plasma screens, and pan/tilt heads) over RS485, RS422, RS232, ethernet terminal servers, and FireWire. Wrote software for custom 2D & 3D web content, using Linux as the primary development platform. Languages used: C, C++, Java, Intel MMX assembly.

Technical Staff, Computer Science Department, University of Washington
Duties included managing over 100 machines consisting of Linux and Silicon Graphics workstations, setting up DNS/WWW/FTP/SMTP services, security, and user support.

Technical Staff, Animation Lab, University of Washington
The Animation Lab was jointly operated by the Computer Science, Music and Art Departments. Duties including configuring and setting up the Animation Lab facilities, which consisted primarily of Silicon Graphics workstations with Alias/Wavefront.

Research Engineer, Human Interface Technology Lab, University of Washington
Technical lead for GreenSpace Project, whose aim was to research 3D virtual reality networked communities which can scale to hundreds of participants. Oversaw all technical aspects of the GreenSpace project, including but not limited to hardware and software for networking, 3D graphics and 3D audio interfaces. A preliminary public demo of this project received local as well as national media coverage, including the Wall Street Journal. Acted as technical liaison for the GreenSpace project to other organizations such as telecommunications firms in the US as well as in Japan.
