As deputy program manger was responsible for the entire program in the absence of the program manager. In addition, daily responsibilities included review of project and program financial results and projections, assignment of project managers, and interaction with the client and representatives of various military installations. As technical manager wqs responsible for all technical work done on the programs, including, staffing, assignment of staff, review and approval of all documents including technical reports, contracts, designs and specifications, and subcontracting documents. Was responsible for a technical staff of 18 geologists, engineers, and scientists.

Was a Vice President and Partner for a small environmental company in California. Provided technical management and technical oversight for projects in northern California. Projects included a groundwater remediation project in Mountain View, and groundwater projects in Richmond and Newark that utilized monitored natural attenuation. Senior Project Manager/ Senior Geologist, Smith Technology Corporation (formerly Canonie Environmental Services Corporation), Pleasanton, CA

Primary responsibilities included project management, business development, technical and financial oversight of other project managers, manager of geology, and management of engineering office in Los Angeles. Was responsible for the management of a Master Service Agreement with Northrop-Grumman Corporation and management of a $5 million remediation project for FMC Corporation. Served as acting regional manager in the absence of the regional manager. Management of the Los Angeles office included profit and loss responsibility, business development, proposal preparation, staffing, and technical oversight of engineering and remediation projects. Responsibilities included renegotiation of a Record of Decision for a site in Fresno that significantly reduced the soil and groundwater remediation costs for the client. Successfully negotiated reduced technical requirements with the Dept. of Toxic Substance Control and the Regional Water Quality Control Board.

Program manager for two USACE $5 million IDO contracts with the Huntsville District, program manager for Chevron UST projects in Texas, LA, AL, MS, and AR, and UST projects for Southland Corporation (7-Eleven) in Texas and Arkansas.

 

Assistant Professor, University of South Alabama

Was an Assistant Professor of Structural Geology and Geophysics. Taught courses in structural geology, regional tectonics, earthquake seismology, introductory geophysics, seismic interpretation, physical and historical geology. Conducted research on the neotectonics of northwest Pakistan, geothermal gradients in the Gulf Coast and Gulf of Mexico, and the relationship of oil and gas fields to gravity anomalies in south Alabama.

Was responsible for negotiation of delivery orders, preparation of cost proposals, submittal of monthly and annual reports, assignment of project managers and staff, and overall responsibility for financial, business, and technical aspects of projects.
